Released in 1996, A Happy Pocket is the third studio album by the Trashcan Sinatras and represents the culmination of their early 'Shabby Road' era. Recorded at their own studio in Kilmarnock, Scotland, the album is a masterclass in jangle pop, characterized by the intricate, weaving guitar work of John Douglas and Paul Livingston. Despite its critical acclaim for its sophisticated wordplay and melodic depth, the album's release was marred by the acquisition of their label, Go! Discs, by Universal.
