Released in late 1999, Aktapuss stands as Akinyele's second full-length effort and a spiritual successor to his underground notoriety established by the 'Put It In Your Mouth' EP. Serving as a soundtrack to a film of the same name, the album represents a bridge between the raw Queensbridge boom bap of the mid-90s and the more polished, commercially-minded production of the turn of the millennium.
