Ask Me Tomorrow is the 1995 debut from Mojave 3, formed by Neil Halstead, Rachel Goswell, and Ian McCutcheon immediately following the dissolution of Slowdive. Recorded in the wake of Slowdive being dropped by Creation Records, the album represents a radical pivot from the electronic-ambient textures of Pygmalion toward a sound rooted in the American songwriting traditions of Townes Van Zandt and Leonard Cohen. Despite this shift, the '4AD sound' remains present through Ivo Watts-Russell’s production influence, resulting in a 'drowsy beauty' that bridges shoegaze and alt-country.
