Released in 1980, Cameosis is the fourth studio album by Cameo and serves as a critical document in the evolution of funk. Following the success of Secret Omen, this record finds the band refining their 'Cameosis' - a self-defined sonic infection of groove. While still utilizing a large ensemble including a full horn section, the album hints at the leaner, more electronic 'snarl-funk' that would later make them superstars with hits like Word Up!.
