Candyland

Released in 2016, Candyland is the tenth studio album by Italy's Theatres des Vampires and marks a significant stylistic departure. After a five-year hiatus following Moonlight Waltz, the band returned with a sound that largely abandoned their signature vampiric and occult lyrical themes in favor of exploring psychological states and mental health. This shift is mirrored in the music, which is noticeably more guitar-driven thanks to the arrival of guitarist Giorgio Ferrante. The production is sleek and modern, blending industrial metal chugs with darkwave synths and alternative rock structures. Notable guest appearances include Fernando Ribeiro of Moonspell on 'Seventh Room,' adding a deep baritone contrast to Scarlet's vocals.
