Released in 1987, Collaboration represents a high-water mark for the smooth jazz movement, pairing two of the genre's most influential guitarists: George Benson and Earl Klugh. Produced by the legendary Tommy LiPuma and engineered by Bill Schnee, the album is a technical marvel of late-80s recording, achieving a level of clarity and warmth that defined the 'Adult Contemporary' aesthetic.
