Distant Light is the third studio album by Alex Lloyd, released in late 2003 following the massive commercial success of Watching Angels Mend. While its predecessor was a breakthrough that established him as a household name in Australia, Distant Light is a more introspective and weary collection of songs. Recorded during a period of intense homesickness following global touring, the album serves as a thematic travelogue. It features significant collaborations with Jim Moginie and Martin Rotsey of Midnight Oil, whose guitar work adds a layer of classic Australian rock pedigree to Lloyd's art-pop sensibilities.
