Eternal Atake

Released in March 2020 after years of anticipation and public disputes with his label, Eternal Atake marked a pivotal moment in Lil Uzi Vert's career. The album is a conceptual journey divided into three segments representing different facets of Uzi's artistry. The first six tracks feature the 'Baby Pluto' persona, characterized by aggressive, technical rapping over dark, fast-paced trap beats. The middle section introduces 'Renji,' a more melodic and vulnerable character, while the final third returns to the classic Lil Uzi Vert sound that fans fell in love with on the Luv Is Rage series. Produced largely by the Working on Dying collective, the album features a signature 'tread' and 'hyperpop-adjacent' sound, utilizing bright, chirpy synths and aggressive percussion. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and was praised for its cohesion and Uzi's improved technical ability as a lyricist.
