Face Off, Part II

Released in 2005 as a sequel to his 2001 breakthrough, Face Off, Part II solidifies Pastor Troy's position as a central figure in the crunk movement. While the original Face Off was a major label debut on Universal, Part II marks a return to his independent roots via Money & Power Records, resulting in a rawer, more uncompromising sound. The album features a diverse roster of Southern producers including Drumma Boy and KLC, who provide the skeletal, high-impact beats that complement Troy’s militant delivery. Despite its independent status, the album performed remarkably well on the Billboard charts, peaking at number 4 on the Independent Albums chart. It serves as a bridge between the early crunk sound and the emerging trap influence of the mid-2000s, maintaining the aggressive, chant-heavy style that Troy pioneered while incorporating the darker, more atmospheric textures of the era.
