Fever

Fever is the third studio album by Welsh metal outfit Bullet for My Valentine, released in April 2010. Following the thrash-heavy 'Scream Aim Fire,' the band sought a more balanced approach, recruiting producer Don Gilmore, known for his work with Linkin Park. This partnership resulted in a significant shift toward a more polished, 'Americanized' alternative metal sound. The recording process was split between the Monnow Valley Studio in Wales and The Document Room in Malibu, reflecting the album's dual nature of British metal roots and Los Angeles production sheen. Lyrically, Matt Tuck moved away from the abstract themes of the past toward more direct, personal narratives of betrayal and emotional turmoil. Critics generally praised the album's hooks while noting its departure from the raw metalcore of their debut. It debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200, marking the band's commercial peak in the United States and solidifying their status as leaders of the melodic metal movement.
