Forever

Released in 2015, Forever is the second full-length album from Hannah Read's project, Lomelda. It serves as a foundational text for the 'spacey folk' sound that would later define her career. Recorded with a focus on natural acoustics and the physical space of the room, the album is heavily influenced by the geography of the Brazos River and the concept of distance. Critically, it is seen as a bridge between traditional singer-songwriter structures and a more experimental, slowcore-adjacent approach to arrangement. The record is notable for its use of 'emotional percussion,' where the drums act as a secondary narrator rather than just a backing track.
