Fragments From a Space Cadet

Released in 2006, Fragments From a Space Cadet is the debut full-length from Danish electronic luminary Kenneth Bager. While Bager had already established himself as a pivotal figure in the European club and chillout scenes as a DJ and label owner (Music for Dreams), this album solidified his reputation as a composer. The record was highly acclaimed in his native Denmark, notably receiving an award from the Danish Arts Foundation, a rare feat for an electronic producer. Sonically, the album is a sprawling exploration of Balearic downtempo, characterized by its 'Fragments' titling scheme which suggests a non-linear, mosaic-like listening experience.
