From Eden

Released in early 2014, the From Eden EP served as a critical bridge between Hozier's viral debut single 'Take Me to Church' and his self-titled full-length album. While the title track showcases a rare moment of rhythmic playfulness with its 5/4 time signature and brighter folk-pop sensibilities, the rest of the EP leans heavily into the 'swamp blues' aesthetic that would define his early career. 'Arsonist’s Lullabye' and 'To Be Alone' highlight his ability to blend distorted electric guitar with haunting, liturgical vocal arrangements, a technique honed during his time with the choral group Anúna.
