Hear to Tempt You

Released in 1977, Hear to Tempt You marks a significant chapter in The Temptations' history as their debut for Atlantic Records. After sixteen years at Motown, the group sought a fresh direction, leading them to collaborate with Norman Harris, a key architect of the Philadelphia International sound. This shift resulted in a sonic profile that leans heavily into disco and sophisticated R&B, moving away from the 'Psychedelic Soul' era of Norman Whitfield. The album also introduces Louis Price as the lead vocalist, replacing Dennis Edwards.
