Heaven Hunters

Heaven Hunters marks the transition of Emile Mosseri from a world-class film composer (Minari, The Last Black Man in San Francisco) to a singular singer-songwriter. Produced by Bobby Krlic (The Haxan Cloak), the album was developed over a three-year period during which Mosseri was also reaching the height of his scoring career. Sonically, it retains the lush, orchestral DNA of his film work but recontextualizes it within the structures of chamber pop and indie folk. The lyrical themes are existential, focusing on the 'weight of choosing' and the mourning of unlived lives - a concept Mosseri calls 'heaven hunting.' The album is notable for its use of vintage analog equipment, giving the arrangements a dusty, timeless quality that bridges the gap between 1960s baroque pop and modern minimalism.
