Houses of the Molé marks a pivotal turning point in Ministry's discography, serving as the opening salvo of Al Jourgensen's 'Anti-Bush Trilogy.' Released in 2004, it represents a significant sonic shift back toward the thrash-influenced industrial metal of the early 1990s, effectively ending the more experimental and slower 'Filth Pig' era. This is the first album since 1986 not to feature Paul Barker, leaving Jourgensen in complete creative control. The return of guitarist Mike Scaccia is central to the album's sound, reintroducing the lightning-fast precision picking that defined 'Psalm 69.'
