Ima nade

Released in 1988, Ima nade (There Is Hope) represents a significant commercial and stylistic peak for YU Grupa during their late-Yugoslav period. Following a hiatus in the early 80s, this album solidified their return to the forefront of the scene. The record is most famous for the ballad 'Dunavom šibaju vetrovi', which became an evergreen anthem in the region. Sonically, the album integrates the session work of keyboardists Dragan Ilić and Saša Lokner, moving the band away from their 70s power-trio roots toward a fuller, more layered arrangement style typical of late-80s production. Despite these modern touches, the Jelić brothers' signature melodic sensibilities remain the focal point. Critically, it is viewed as one of their most cohesive works, successfully balancing hard rock energy with the 'soft rock' accessibility that dominated the airwaves at the time.
