Just Be Free is a controversial collection of demo recordings by Christina Aguilera, recorded between 1994 and 1995 when she was only 14 and 15 years old. Produced by Robert Allecca and Michael Brown (Platinum Recordings), the tracks were originally intended as industry demos to secure a record deal rather than for public consumption. Following Aguilera's massive success with her 1999 debut, Warlock Records released these sessions in 2001, leading to a legal battle over her likeness and artistic direction. The album eventually reached the public through a settlement. Sonically, it is a departure from the polished R&B of her official catalog, leaning heavily into mid-90s dance-pop and freestyle.
