Make Yourself at Home

Released in June 2025, Make Yourself at Home serves as the concluding chapter to JP Saxe’s ambitious two-part project, following the earlier release of Articulate Excuses. While the first half of the project dealt with the external justifications and defense mechanisms used in relationships, this 7-track mini-LP turns the lens inward. Recorded with a minimalist philosophy, the album highlights Saxe's signature 'journal-entry' lyrical style, but with a pivot toward themes of neurodivergence and self-reconciliation. The track 'Inconsiderate and ADHD' marks a significant moment in his catalog, addressing personal mental health with the same granular detail he usually reserves for romance. Critics have noted that this record represents a 'softening' of his sound, trading the sharp edges of 'If the World Was Ending' for a more grounded, folk-adjacent warmth. It positions Saxe not just as a songwriter of heartbreak, but as a chronicler of the modern internal condition.
