Miracle‐Level

Miracle-Level marks a significant milestone in Deerhoof's nearly three-decade career as their first album recorded entirely in a professional studio with an outside producer (Mike Bridavsky). It is also their first record sung entirely in Japanese. This shift results in a sonic clarity and depth of field previously unheard in their discography, moving away from the 'bedroom' aesthetic toward a rich, analog hi-fi sound. Despite the polished production, the band's core identity - characterized by complex time signatures, sudden dynamic shifts, and Satomi Matsuzaki's minimalist vocal delivery - remains intact. The album was written and rehearsed extensively before entering the studio, leading to a performance-focused energy that captures the band's live chemistry.
