Mixtape

Mixtape is the foundational pre-debut EP by Stray Kids, serving as a compilation of songs written and performed during their 2017 reality survival show. Unlike many idol groups whose early work is curated by external producers, Mixtape established 3RACHA (Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han) as the primary creative engine of the group. The album is sonically characterized by a fusion of aggressive trap, EDM, and rock elements, most notably on the lead single 'Hellevator.' This track was a significant departure from the 'flower boy' concepts prevalent in the industry at the time, opting instead for a darker, industrial-influenced aesthetic. The EP also explores themes of youth, academic pressure ('School Life'), and internal conflict ('Grrr'), grounding its high-energy production in relatable, often anxious lyricism.
