Mood Valiant is the third studio album by Melbourne quartet Hiatus Kaiyote, released six years after their breakthrough Choose Your Weapon. The album's creation was profoundly shaped by lead singer Nai Palm’s 2018 breast cancer diagnosis and subsequent recovery, lending the project a heightened sense of existential gratitude and emotional depth. A pivotal moment in the recording process was the band's trip to Rio de Janeiro to collaborate with legendary Brazilian arranger Arthur Verocai, whose lush orchestrations on 'Get Sun' provide a grander, more cinematic scale than their previous work.
