Morning in Atlantis

Morning in Atlantis is the debut EP from the Austrian symphonic metal band Visions of Atlantis, released in 2000. Serving as the foundational document for their maritime-themed aesthetic, the record features the original lineup including vocalists Nicole Bogner and Christian Stani. Sonically, it bridges the gap between the gothic metal of the late 90s and the burgeoning power-symphonic movement of the early 2000s. The production is characteristic of its era, featuring prominent, slightly thin synth patches that provide a 'crystalline' and 'watery' texture to the tracks. Many of these songs, such as 'Lovebearing Storm,' would later be re-recorded for their debut full-length, 'Eternal Endless Infinity,' but these original versions capture a more raw, atmospheric energy.
