One Plus One Is One

Released in 2004, One Plus One Is One marks the conclusion of Badly Drawn Boy's tenure with XL Recordings. Following the high-profile success of the About a Boy soundtrack and the polished Have You Fed the Fish?, this album represents a deliberate retreat into more intimate, folk-oriented territory. Recorded partly at Stockport's Yellow Arch Studios, the record leans heavily into chamber pop arrangements, featuring prominent use of strings, woodwinds, and choral elements.
