Our Nation

Released in 2018, Our Nation serves as the third full-length studio album from the Swedish duo Dada Life (Olle Cornéer and Stefan Engblom). The album arrived during a period of significant change for the group, following Olle Cornéer's announcement that he would retire from touring due to health issues while remaining a full partner in the studio. Sonically, the album is a refinement of the 'Big Room' and Electro House sound they helped pioneer, characterized by extreme dynamic compression and aggressive, distorted oscillators. Unlike their earlier, more prank-focused work, Our Nation leans into a slightly more polished, anthemic territory, featuring prominent vocal performances and stadium-ready hooks. It stands as a definitive document of the late-EDM era's maximalist tendencies before the genre shifted toward more minimalist house styles.
