Paint This Town

Released in 2022, Paint This Town represents a homecoming for Old Crow Medicine Show, recorded at their own Hartland Studio in Nashville. It is the first album to feature the band’s revamped lineup and marks a return to a more collaborative, band-centric writing process. Sonically, it is a departure from their strictly 'old-time' acoustic roots, incorporating prominent percussion and electric elements that align it more closely with the 1970s country-rock tradition of the Flying Burrito Brothers or The Band. The album is notable for its sharp lyrical focus on Southern identity, tackling themes of racial justice ('New Mississippi Flag') and historical legacy ('Deford Rides Again') alongside nostalgic anthems.
