Part of You is the first installment of a three-part EP series released by Good Old War in 2018. Following a period of relative silence, this release signaled a return to the band's core strengths: intricate three-part harmonies and stripped-back acoustic arrangements. Recorded with a focus on live-feeling takes, the EP captures the chemistry between Keith Goodwin, Dan Schwartz, and Tim Arnold. While their previous full-lengths occasionally experimented with more robust indie-rock production, this EP strips away the excess to highlight the songwriting. Critically, it was noted for its 'sun-drenched' quality, a hallmark of the band's Philadelphia-meets-California folk sound.
