PARTYPACK

Released in 2020, PARTYPACK is a curated EP of archival tracks that had previously only existed as Soundcloud loosies or unofficial uploads between 2013 and 2016. Despite being a collection of older material, the project maintains a remarkable sonic consistency, showcasing the 'OVO Sound' blueprint: heavy low-end, filtered melodies, and vulnerable, often distorted vocals. The track 'West District' is a notable reimagining of Drake's 'Days in the East,' while 'Persian Rugs' remains one of the most celebrated examples of the 'trapsoul' subgenre. The EP serves as a bridge between PND's self-titled debut era and his more polished later works, offering a raw look at the production techniques that influenced a generation of bedroom R&B producers. It was released to satisfy long-term fans (the 'day ones') who had championed these specific tracks for years prior to their official DSP debut.
