Pseudomutuality is a significant 'lost' artifact in Daniel Caesar's discography, representing a pivot toward a full acoustic sound that was famously rejected by his record label. Originally intended as the follow-up to CASE STUDY 01, the project was shelved in favor of what would become Brutus Embarks, making this a rare glimpse into a creative path not taken. Sonically, the album is defined by its minimalism, featuring primarily acoustic guitar, sparse piano, and Caesar's signature vocal harmonies stripped of their usual studio sheen. The tracks are longer and more wandering than his commercial releases, with 'Mr. Nice Guy' stretching nearly seven minutes.
