Rage Valley

Released in May 2012, Rage Valley is the second EP from Knife Party, the project formed by Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen of Pendulum. This release solidified their transition from drum and bass titans to the architects of 'complextro' and aggressive dubstep. The EP is notable for its high-fidelity production, utilizing extreme compression and intricate synth modulation that influenced a generation of bass music producers. Track two, 'Centipede', became a viral sensation for its use of a nature documentary sample, while 'Bonfire' successfully merged moombahton and reggae influences with heavy electro-house.
