Raimundos

Released in 1994, the self-titled debut from Raimundos remains one of the most influential records in Brazilian rock history. It pioneered the 'forrocore' subgenre, a stylistic fusion that integrated the rhythmic structures of forró (a traditional genre from Northeastern Brazil) with the speed and attitude of hardcore punk and grunge. Produced by Carlos Eduardo Miranda, the album's sonic character is defined by its raw, high-gain guitar tones and the use of regional slang and themes, which resonated deeply with a generation of Brazilian youth.
