Reanimation

Released in 2002, Reanimation stands as one of the most ambitious remix projects in modern music history. Produced by Mike Shinoda during the grueling Hybrid Theory tour, the album sought to bridge the gap between Linkin Park's mainstream rock success and the underground hip-hop and electronic scenes that influenced them. Rather than simple dance floor edits, the tracks were completely rebuilt from the ground up, often featuring entirely new verses, guest vocalists, and radically different instrumentation including prominent strings and glitch-heavy percussion. It features a diverse roster of collaborators ranging from Orgy's Jay Gordon to Black Thought and Marilyn Manson. Critically, it was praised for its creative risk-taking, effectively legitimizing the remix album format. It remains the fourth best-selling remix album of all time, serving as a pivotal bridge to the band's more experimental future works.
