Rebel Road

Released in 2008, Rebel Road serves as Edgar Winter's tenth solo studio effort and a significant stylistic pivot toward Southern-fried blues rock. While Winter is historically celebrated for the synth-heavy 'Frankenstein' and jazz-inflected prog-rock, this album strips away the avant-garde layers in favor of a collaborative, guest-heavy celebration of roots music. The inclusion of Slash on the title track provides a modern hard-rock edge, while the collaboration with country star Clint Black on multiple tracks introduces a Nashville-meets-Texas-blues sensibility.
