Reboot marks the historic 2022 return of organist Ronnie Foster to Blue Note Records, arriving exactly 50 years after his landmark 1972 debut album, Two Headed Freap. Released on July 15, 2022, this nine-track album represents a full-circle moment for Foster, who was originally signed to the label by Dr. George Butler in the early 1970s following a standout performance as a sideman on Grant Green's 1970 live album, Alive!.

Sonically, the album is a pristine showcase of the classic Hammond B3 organ trio format, augmented by percussion. The track listing features a mix of soulful originals and tasteful covers, including a spirited rendition of Stevie Wonder's 'Isn't She Lovely.' The recording captures the warm, live-in-the-room interplay between Foster, his son Chris Foster on drums, and guitarist Michael O'Neill. By avoiding over-production, the album preserves the organic, groove-heavy soul-jazz and jazz-funk style that defined Foster's classic era, while benefiting from modern high-fidelity recording standards.
