Released in 2016 as a bridge between their seminal 'Choose Your Weapon' era and future explorations, Recalibrations Vol.1 is a curated EP that showcases the band's material through a different lens. The project features a mix of live-to-tape intimacy and high-concept remixes from respected figures in the electronic and soul communities. The 'Live Cassette' version of 'Prince Minikid' serves as a raw, lo-fi introduction that contrasts sharply with the polished, space-age production of the remixes. Vikter Duplaix brings a sophisticated, rhythmic drive to 'By Fire,' while Taylor McFerrin (a frequent collaborator) provides a signature glitch-soul atmosphere to 'Laputa.' The 'Desert Mix' of 'Nakamarra' strips the Grammy-nominated hit down to its skeletal, evocative core.
