Silver Wilkinson

Released in 2013 on Warp Records, Silver Wilkinson represents Stephen Wilkinson's most successful attempt at integrating his love for pastoral folk with his background in electronic manipulation. Following the more eclectic and sometimes jarring Mind Bokeh, this album returned to the 'folktronica' roots of his early work but with a significantly more organic approach. Much of the album was recorded outdoors in Wilkinson's garden using a portable setup including a 12-string guitar and an MPC sampler, a method that directly contributed to the album's airy, spacious character. The title itself refers to a salmon fishing fly, reinforcing the album's connection to nature and water.
