Space EP

Released in 2015, Space EP marks a significant creative milestone for The Devil Wears Prada as their second major concept release following the 2010 Zombie EP. This record represents a shift toward a more cinematic and atmospheric sound, heavily influenced by the addition of keyboardist Jonathon Gering as a primary songwriter. It is the first release without founding guitarist Chris Rubey, which led to a more collaborative and experimental approach to the guitar work. Each of the six tracks explores a different facet of space - from the narrative of an astronaut's journey in 'Planet A' to the instrumental 'Celestial Mechanics.' Critics praised the EP for its cohesive vision and the way it integrated electronic elements more seamlessly than their earlier 'synth-core' work. It solidified the band's reputation as one of the few metalcore acts capable of executing high-concept art without sacrificing their core intensity.
