Spinner

Released in 1995, Spinner is a collaborative effort between Brian Eno and Jah Wobble, though the two famously did not work in the studio together. The album originated from Eno's soundtrack work for the Derek Jarman film 'Glitterbug.' Eno passed the raw atmospheric tapes to Wobble, who then added bass, percussion, and additional production, effectively 'spinning' the material into new forms. This process resulted in a record that sits uniquely between Eno's pure ambient experiments and the dub-inflected post-punk rhythms Wobble is known for. The album is notable for its darker, more industrial tone compared to Eno's 'Music for Airports' era, reflecting the mid-90s interest in trip-hop and darker electronic textures.
