Stratovarius

Released in 2005, the self-titled 'Stratovarius' represents the most significant sonic departure in the band's history. Following a period of well-documented internal strife and a temporary breakup, the album abandoned the high-speed neoclassical power metal that defined their '90s peak. Instead, songwriter Timo Tolkki steered the band toward a darker, more rhythmic, and simplified sound.
