Strawberry Jam

Released in 2007, Strawberry Jam represents a pivotal shift in Animal Collective's discography, moving away from the 'freak folk' label of Sung Tongs and the watery textures of Feels toward a more aggressive, electronic-forward sound. Recorded at Wave Lab Studios in Tucson, Arizona, the band sought to capture a 'desert' aesthetic, which they interpreted not as Americana, but as a sharp, dry, and intense sonic environment.
