Frontman Jeff Martin retained his touring musicians to create a record that balances his signature slowcore aesthetic with surprising flourishes of jazz-inflected percussion and gritty classic rock virility. Notably, it was one of the first albums to utilize HDCD (High Definition Compatible Digital) technology, resulting in a sonic depth that highlights the interplay between Martin’s four-string guitar and delicate piano melodies.
