Traditional Synthesizer Music

Released in 2016, Traditional Synthesizer Music is a conceptual and technical departure for Venetian Snares. Moving away from his established tracker-based workflow and heavy use of 7/4 breakbeats and classical samples, Aaron Funk restricted himself entirely to a modular synthesizer setup. The album's core philosophy was 'live performance without edits'; each track was recorded in a single take, with no overdubbing or post-production manipulation. This methodology results in a sound that is more 'analog' and 'organic' than his previous discography, emphasizing the inherent unpredictability of modular patches.
