Trust Me

Trust Me, released in 2007, represents Craig David's attempt to broaden his sonic palette by incorporating international influences and high-profile samples. Recorded primarily in Havana, Cuba, with producers Martin Terefe and Fraser T Smith, the album moved away from the strict UK Garage constraints of his earlier work toward a more expansive R&B and dance-pop sound. The lead single 'Hot Stuff' famously samples David Bowie's 'Let's Dance,' a move that garnered significant radio play and helped the album achieve Gold status in the UK. Despite its commercial success at home, the album struggled to gain a foothold in the US market, peaking at 58 on the R&B charts.
