Released in late 2022, TT Freak serves as a strategic bridge between Akon’s Konvict Kulture label and the burgeoning TikTok-driven music economy. The EP is notable for its brevity, with several tracks clocking in under three minutes, optimized for the 'hook-first' nature of modern streaming. It features significant contributions from Nektunez, a producer who gained massive fame via social media, and Amirror, the first female rapper signed to Akon's label. Sonically, the project departs from the moody, lonely R&B of 'Lonely' or 'Locked Up,' instead leaning into vibrant, Afrobeats-influenced production and high-energy pop-rap. While it maintains Akon's signature nasal tenor, the lyrical focus shifts toward celebration and modern romance. The project was executive produced in collaboration with Hoo.be, emphasizing its status as a multi-platform lifestyle product rather than just a traditional music release.
