vapowavez

Released in late 2017, vapowavez represents a stylistic intersection for German producer Wun Two, blending his foundational lo-fi boom bap roots with the aesthetic hallmarks of vaporwave. Spanning eight tracks and roughly 20 minutes, the album functions as a mini-LP or suite of nocturnal vignettes. Unlike his more nature-focused or jazz-heavy works, this project leans into synthetic textures, pitch-shifted soul samples, and a 'chopped and screwed' sensibility that evokes 1980s late-night television and urban decay. The recording is characterized by extreme tape saturation and intentional audio degradation, making the silence between the beats as important as the samples themselves.
