VELVET: Side A

Released in September 2019, Velvet: Side A serves as the first half of Adam Lambert's fourth studio album, marking a significant stylistic departure from the synth-heavy sound of 2015's The Original High. Lambert intentionally sought a more 'analog' feel, utilizing live players and vintage recording techniques to pay homage to the funk, soul, and glam rock of the 1970s. This shift was partly influenced by his tenure as the lead singer for Queen, which deepened his connection to classic rock showmanship and organic instrumentation. The EP was released through his own independent label, More Is More, signaling a move toward greater creative autonomy.
