Xtort

Released in 1996, Xtort stands as KMFDM's most commercially successful and highest-charting album. Recorded at the Chicago Recording Company during a period of transition for the band, it features a massive roster of guest contributors including Chris Connelly, Bill Rieflin, and F.M. Einheit. Despite the limited involvement of core member En Esch, Sascha Konietzko maintained a rigorous production schedule that resulted in a highly disciplined, aggressive sound. The album is notable for its 'Power' single, which was heavily promoted by TVT Records and became an industrial club staple. Sonic highlights include the Atari Teenage Riot-inspired 'Craze' and the satirical spoken-word piece 'Dogma'.
