Released in 2015 on Planet Mu, 'Your Face' (full title 'Your Face When I Finally') serves as a sophisticated evolution of Venetian Snares' signature breakcore sound. Following the more aggressive 'My Love Is a Bulldozer', this EP leans heavily into IDM and glitch aesthetics, prioritizing complex synthesis and 'glassy' textures over pure distorted noise. The recording is notable for its use of odd time signatures and hyper-edited samples, a hallmark of Aaron Funk's Canadian origin. Interestingly, the artist sought feedback from senior citizens during the production process, highlighting the 'disturbing' yet 'dream-like' quality of the work. The EP features a 'Glass Version' of the title track, which strips away much of the rhythmic violence to reveal the delicate melodic core of the composition.
