Abyss (FR) is a French death metal entity formed in 2005 that distinguishes itself through a singular focus on oceanic themes and 'aquatic' progressive metal. While the name Abyss is shared by numerous projects globally, the French iteration carved out a niche by signing with the South Korean label Realize Records, a move that gave them a unique international footprint in the late 2000s.
