Alex Gopher

Alexis Latrobe, known as Alex Gopher, is a cornerstone of the French Touch movement and one of Europe's most respected mastering engineers. His career began in the pop band Orange alongside Etienne de Crécy and the future members of Air, establishing a collaborative network that would define French electronic music for decades.

Gopher's sound identity is defined by a meticulous attention to sonic detail, blending deep house, funk, and nu-jazz with a signature high-fidelity polish. As a mastering engineer at Translab, he has shaped the sound of artists ranging from Gesaffelstein to Mr. Oizo, bringing a technical authority to his own productions. His work on the 'Wuz' project, commissioned by Yves Saint Laurent, solidified his connection to the fashion world and his reputation for creating 'chic' electronic music.
